School Sport

We cover all the skills outlined in the National Curriculum for
games, gymnastics and swimming. While we are a small school,
the children also have opportunities to compete against other local
schools in matches and tournaments.

Year Round Sports

A top sport at Stratford Prep is sailing, which builds character and develops both leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
Sailing courses with specialist instructors are organised throughout the year at Upton Warren Sailing Club. Most pupils pass the Royal Yachting Association Level 3 or 4.

Children in Reception start swimming lessons in the Summer Term and this then carries on weekly all the way through Infants (Years 1-2). Junior children (Years 3-6) have swimming lessons every alternate term.

Seasonal Sports

Winter Sports
These include football, rugby, hockey and netball.

Summer Sports

These include cricket, tennis, athletics and rounders.

Sports Days, Galas, Trips & Clubs

Sports Day for our Reception children, Infant and Junior classes (Year 1-6) takes place on a Saturday morning in June. We choose a Saturday to ensure that as many family members and friends are able to come along to support the children. The Nursery Sports Day is usually held on the Friday morning before this.
Junior pupils (Year 3-6) get to showcase their progress in swimming at our annual Swimming Gala held at the local leisure centre. Pupils at the top of the school also go on a week-long residential trip where, among other things, they get to enjoy a range of outdoor activities.
Lunchtime and after school clubs every term.
