Half term week
We hope you all enjoy a lovely restful Half Term break.
If you wish to do some maths activities over the holiday please practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables for rapid recall.
The children are mostly all secure with number bonds to 10 so now we need to start working on number bonds to 20 which I have introduced, using our place value knowledge, adding a ten. They may also like some 'find the difference' questions to reinforce what we have been doing this week in class. For example the difference between 6 and 12, by starting at 6 and counting on or recognising the vocabulary as meaning take away so doing 12 - 6. It is useful to show this on a number line too or using any objects such as crayons, shells, pieces of lego etc.
Our topics next half term are 'Forces' in Science and continues with 'Toys and Traditions' in Humanities.
The trip this term is to the Cotswold Toy museum on Wednesday 27th February. The children will need their PE kit in School on Monday 25th February and I will send it back home the same day ready for their trip.
Very best wishes
